We are hiring!

Sheldon High School Lacrosse Club in Eugene, Oregon is seeking a Boy's Varsity Head Coach for the 2023-24 season. The position will oversee both varsity and JV and is responsible for hiring additional staff. While the program is a non-profit club sport, coaches receive support from a strong board of directors, parent volunteers, and school resources. The boys are coming out of the 2022-23 season as conference champions, with a strong chance at gaining a place in Oregon's top 10 teams next season. But more importantly, our program supports and encourages the development of our players' character with an emphasis on responsibility, accountability, dedication, and teamwork.

The Varsity Head Coach (VHC) is responsible for all facets of the lacrosse program. The primary emphasis for the position is the positive development of student-athletes and creating a positive environment that builds leaders on and off the field. Additional duties include scheduling, coaching practice, and supervising assistant coaches.

The VHC represents Sheldon Lacrosse at all meetings and functions related to the Oregon High School Lacrosse Association (OHSLA) and the Southwest Conference. The VHC is charged with working with these organizations and other high school programs to set a competitive game schedule for the team, including varsity and junior varsity teams.

The VHC identifies potential candidates for the varsity assistant coaching, junior varsity head coaching, junior varsity assistant coaching, and specialty coaching (i.e. goalie, face off) positions. However, final employment and compensation decisions are made solely by the Sheldon High School Boys Lacrosse Club Board (the "Board").

The VHC is charged with identifying team leaders who will hold pre-season team practices.

The VHC, in conjunction with the assistant varsity coaches and the junior varsity staff (the "Staff"), will devise and execute a conditioning program for the weeks leading up to team tryouts.

The Staff will hold at least five practices per week or a combination of five practices and games per week. However, the VHC may cancel a practice if he/she believes the team would benefit from a day of rest.

If you are interested in the Varsity Head Coach position, please reach out to Sheldon HS Lacrosse Club Board President, Andrea Enright at 541-521-1648 or
